The capture zone is the area directly beneath the kitchen chimney where rising smoke, steam and grease particles are collected before spreading throughout the kitchen. A properly sized chimney positioned at the recommended height creates a wider and more effective capture zone. Cooking habits, cookware size and surrounding airflow also influence capture efficiency. Maintaining clean filters and proper airflow helps preserve the effectiveness of this capture area during everyday cooking.

During cooking, microscopic grease particles become suspended in warm air together with smoke and steam. Without effective ventilation, these particles gradually settle on nearby cabinets, walls, ceilings and countertops, creating sticky deposits over time. A properly installed kitchen chimney captures a large portion of these airborne particles before they spread throughout the room. Clean grease filters and unobstructed airflow help maintain efficient particle removal while reducing the amount of grease accumulating on surrounding kitchen surfaces.
