Small changes in operating sound can occur as filters collect grease or as airflow conditions change. A gradual increase in fan noise does not always indicate mechanical failure, but it often suggests that inspection or maintenance may be beneficial. Checking filters, ducting and mounting stability usually forms part of the diagnostic process before any components are replaced.
Inspection of grease build-up and filter condition
Baffle/mesh filter removal and deep degreasing
Motor housing and duct-mouth cleaning
Auto-clean function check (if applicable)
Filter refitting and suction test
Final wipe-down and odour check
Even the highest-quality kitchen chimney depends on correct installation and ongoing maintenance to perform reliably. Professional installation establishes proper mounting, electrical connections and duct routing, while routine cleaning keeps airflow unrestricted over time. Together, these practices help maintain efficient smoke extraction, support cleaner indoor air and contribute to dependable long-term operation of the complete kitchen ventilation system.

Grease filters perform an important role beyond simply collecting oil particles. By preventing grease from entering the blower housing and exhaust duct, they help preserve airflow throughout the ventilation system. Regular filter cleaning allows air to move freely while reducing deposits that may gradually restrict performance. Consistent maintenance therefore benefits both cleanliness and extraction efficiency.
