Importance of Measuring Cabinet Depth
Before mounting a kitchen chimney, installers measure cabinet depth to ensure the appliance aligns correctly with the cooktop. Cabinets that extend too far forward may interfere with airflow or reduce maintenance access. Accurate measurements help position the chimney so that smoke enters the intake area efficiently while maintaining an attractive appearance within the kitchen.

Maintaining Access for Future Servicing
A well-installed kitchen chimney should remain easy to inspect and maintain throughout its service life. During installation, technicians leave sufficient clearance to remove grease filters, access electrical connections and inspect the exhaust duct where practical. Designing for maintenance at the beginning reduces service time later and minimizes the need to dismantle surrounding cabinets during routine inspections.

Understanding Smoke Capture Efficiency
Smoke capture efficiency refers to how effectively a kitchen chimney collects cooking fumes before they spread throughout the kitchen. Performance depends on chimney width, installation height, airflow capacity, filter condition and cooking intensity. During heavy frying or grilling, smoke rises rapidly and spreads outward if it is not captured quickly. A properly positioned chimney creates a controlled airflow that directs smoke through the grease filters and into the exhaust duct. Maintaining clean filters and unobstructed ducting helps preserve capture efficiency throughout the appliance's service life.
Maintenance
Chimney Maintenance Tips
✔️Clean or wash filters every 15–20 days of regular cooking use.
✔️Run the chimney for 3–5 minutes after cooking to clear residual smoke and grease.
✔️Get a professional deep-clean every 3–4 months for heavy daily use.
✔️Avoid high flame directly under the chimney intake to reduce grease build-up.
✔️Check ducting joints yearly for grease leaks or loosened seals.
