Kitchen chimneys provide multiple blower speeds to match different cooking conditions. Lower speeds are generally suitable for light cooking, while higher settings produce greater airflow during grilling or frying. Selecting an appropriate speed helps capture smoke efficiently without operating the blower at maximum capacity when it is unnecessary. Matching blower speed to cooking intensity supports effective ventilation throughout the cooking process.

During extended cooking sessions, the blower operates continuously to maintain airflow above the cooktop. Stable airflow depends on unrestricted filters, properly connected ducting and adequate replacement air entering the kitchen. If any part of the ventilation path becomes restricted, smoke removal efficiency may gradually decrease. Routine maintenance helps preserve stable airflow during everyday cooking activities.

A sudden reduction in duct diameter increases airflow resistance and may reduce smoke extraction efficiency. Professional installers normally maintain a consistent duct size throughout the exhaust path whenever possible. Uniform duct dimensions allow air to move smoothly toward the outdoor outlet while minimizing unnecessary turbulence. Following the manufacturer's recommended duct specifications supports balanced ventilation performance.
