A kitchen chimney removes smoke by creating a slight pressure difference between the cooking area and the exhaust duct. The blower lowers the pressure inside the chimney inlet, encouraging smoke, steam and grease particles to move toward the filters. Stable airflow depends on both unrestricted exhaust ducting and sufficient replacement air entering the kitchen. Maintaining this pressure balance helps improve smoke capture efficiency during everyday cooking.

Modern kitchen chimneys vary in size and weight depending on their design and construction. Before installation, technicians inspect the wall material to determine whether it can safely support the appliance using appropriate mounting hardware. Concrete, solid brick and lightweight partition walls require different installation methods. Verifying wall strength before drilling helps ensure secure long-term support and minimizes vibration during operation.

Professional servicing considers the chimney as one complete ventilation system rather than a collection of separate parts. Technicians inspect filters, blower performance, duct routing, mounting hardware, electrical controls and airflow together. Evaluating the complete system provides a more accurate understanding of overall performance and supports reliable long-term operation.
