Whenever a kitchen chimney removes air from the room, fresh air must enter to replace it. Without replacement air, airflow efficiency gradually decreases because the chimney cannot maintain the required pressure difference. Opening a nearby window slightly or ensuring natural ventilation can improve smoke removal, particularly during extended cooking sessions. Balanced ventilation supports both chimney performance and indoor air quality.

Most modern kitchen chimneys use energy-efficient LED lighting to illuminate the cooking surface. LEDs generate less heat than conventional bulbs while providing bright, even lighting over the cooktop. During routine servicing, technicians may verify switch operation, light output and electrical connections to ensure the lighting system continues operating correctly. Good lighting improves visibility during food preparation and helps monitor smoke generation while cooking.
Most Hafele installation jobs in Thakurpukur Kalikapur land between ₹799 and ₹2499 — island chimneys and longer duct runs sit at the higher end, simple wall-mounted units at the lower end. All install work carries a 90-day SharkCool service warranty, covering workmanship on the job performed.
Before switching on a Hafele chimney after installing, we test the electrical connection and confirm the ducting seal is airtight — not just that the fan spins.

Modern kitchen chimneys commonly use a printed circuit board (PCB) to manage fan speeds, lighting functions, touch controls, timers, and Auto Clean operations. Instead of connecting every switch directly to the motor, the PCB receives user commands and controls different electrical components safely. Dust, grease vapours, moisture, or unstable electrical conditions may affect electronic circuits over time. During professional servicing, technicians visually inspect wiring connectors and electrical assemblies for signs of overheating, corrosion, or loose terminals. A properly functioning control PCB helps ensure reliable operation of every feature available on the chimney.
