Cooking continuously changes air movement inside the kitchen. Rising heat, steam and smoke interact with natural ventilation, open windows and ceiling fans. A properly positioned kitchen chimney captures these moving air currents before they spread throughout the room. Understanding these airflow patterns helps explain why installation position plays such an important role in effective smoke removal.

Outdoor wind conditions can influence the movement of exhaust air leaving the kitchen chimney. Properly positioned outlet vents help maintain consistent airflow by reducing the possibility of outside air flowing back into the duct. During installation, technicians consider the direction of the exhaust outlet and surrounding building structures to support reliable ventilation under changing weather conditions.
