Following installation or maintenance, technicians verify that the blower, filters, electrical controls and exhaust duct work together correctly. Airflow testing confirms that smoke is moving efficiently through the complete ventilation system and provides an opportunity to identify any remaining adjustments before completing the service.

Final wipe-down and odour check
Ventilation performance generally changes over time rather than suddenly. Small reductions in airflow, increased cooking odours or slower smoke removal often indicate that maintenance is becoming necessary. Inspecting filters, ducting and overall airflow allows technicians to identify the source of reduced efficiency before more noticeable performance loss develops.

Cooking appliances generate heat that causes air above the cooktop to rise naturally. This upward movement carries smoke, steam and grease particles toward the chimney intake. A properly installed chimney works with this natural airflow instead of against it, capturing contaminants before they spread through the kitchen. Correct installation height, adequate suction and clean filters all contribute to efficient heat-driven ventilation.
