Whenever a kitchen chimney removes air from the room, fresh air must enter to replace it. Without replacement air, airflow efficiency gradually decreases because the chimney cannot maintain the required pressure difference. Opening a nearby window slightly or ensuring natural ventilation can improve smoke removal, particularly during extended cooking sessions. Balanced ventilation supports both chimney performance and indoor air quality.
Inspection of grease build-up and filter condition
Baffle/mesh filter removal and deep degreasing
Motor housing and duct-mouth cleaning
Auto-clean function check (if applicable)
Filter refitting and suction test
Final wipe-down and odour check
Many chimney problems develop gradually over months rather than appearing suddenly. Periodic inspection allows technicians to identify dirty filters, loose brackets, grease accumulation or declining airflow before these issues significantly affect performance. Preventive maintenance generally requires less work than correcting problems after they have progressed, helping maintain consistent extraction efficiency throughout the year.

A common misunderstanding is that Auto Clean technology removes the need for regular maintenance. In reality, the system primarily helps remove grease from internal areas after oil has already passed through the grease filter. The grease filter itself still collects a significant amount of cooking residue and should be cleaned regularly. Combining routine filter cleaning with Auto Clean operation helps maintain efficient airflow while reducing grease buildup inside the chimney body.
