Installing a kitchen chimney at the recommended height above the cooktop helps maintain efficient smoke extraction while providing enough space for safe cooking. The ideal distance depends on the chimney model and the type of cooking appliance, such as gas or electric. Mounting the unit too high may reduce suction efficiency, while placing it too low can expose the appliance to excessive heat. During installation, technicians verify measurements carefully before drilling or fixing mounting brackets.

Selecting the correct installation position is one of the most important parts of fitting a kitchen chimney. The appliance should be centered directly above the cooktop so smoke, steam, and grease are captured efficiently during cooking. Installers also consider cabinet spacing, duct routing, electrical access, and future maintenance requirements before drilling mounting holes. A well-planned installation not only improves extraction performance but also allows easier servicing and filter cleaning in the future.
Most Glen installation jobs in Santoshpur land between ₹799 and ₹2499 — island chimneys and longer duct runs sit at the higher end, simple wall-mounted units at the lower end. All install work carries a 90-day SharkCool service warranty, covering workmanship on the job performed.
Before switching on a Glen chimney after installing, we test the electrical connection and confirm the ducting seal is airtight — not just that the fan spins.

Most kitchen chimneys provide multiple fan speed settings to match different cooking requirements. Lower speeds may be suitable for light cooking, while higher speeds are useful when preparing foods that generate larger amounts of smoke or steam. Selecting an appropriate fan speed helps improve smoke removal while avoiding unnecessary energy consumption during everyday use.
