During cooking, hot air naturally rises from the cooktop carrying smoke, steam and microscopic grease particles. A kitchen chimney creates controlled airflow that captures these rising contaminants before they spread across the room. If airflow is interrupted by poor installation, blocked filters or unsuitable ducting, some particles may escape into the surrounding kitchen. Maintaining an unobstructed ventilation path helps the chimney remove airborne contaminants more effectively.
Inspection of grease build-up and filter condition
Baffle/mesh filter removal and deep degreasing
Motor housing and duct-mouth cleaning
Auto-clean function check (if applicable)
Filter refitting and suction test
Final wipe-down and odour check
Reliable kitchen chimney performance is achieved through preventive maintenance rather than waiting for noticeable problems to develop. Proper installation establishes efficient airflow, while routine filter cleaning, periodic inspections and timely servicing help preserve that performance over time. A well-maintained ventilation system continues removing smoke, steam and grease effectively, contributing to cleaner indoor air and dependable kitchen operation throughout the appliance's expected service life.
Most Hafele cleaning jobs in Jadavpur land between ₹499 and ₹1499 — island chimneys and longer duct runs sit at the higher end, simple wall-mounted units at the lower end. If the clean work fails within 90 days, the return visit to Jadavpur is free — no debate about whether it's covered.
Safety checks — secure mounting, ducting seal, and electrical connection — are part of every clean job, not an optional add-on.

Many kitchen chimney filters use several layers of metal mesh or baffle channels to separate grease from moving air. As smoke passes through the filter, grease particles gradually attach to these surfaces while cleaner air continues toward the blower. Regular cleaning removes accumulated grease and helps maintain consistent airflow without placing unnecessary load on the ventilation system.
