Reliable kitchen chimney performance is achieved through preventive maintenance rather than waiting for noticeable problems to develop. Proper installation establishes efficient airflow, while routine filter cleaning, periodic inspections and timely servicing help preserve that performance over time. A well-maintained ventilation system continues removing smoke, steam and grease effectively, contributing to cleaner indoor air and dependable kitchen operation throughout the appliance's expected service life.

A kitchen chimney removes smoke by creating a slight pressure difference between the cooking area and the exhaust duct. The blower lowers the pressure inside the chimney inlet, encouraging smoke, steam and grease particles to move toward the filters. Stable airflow depends on both unrestricted exhaust ducting and sufficient replacement air entering the kitchen. Maintaining this pressure balance helps improve smoke capture efficiency during everyday cooking.

If smoke appears to escape from one side of the cooktop more than the other, technicians may inspect chimney alignment, installation height, airflow direction and surrounding air movement. Uneven extraction is not always caused by the blower itself and may result from kitchen layout or ventilation patterns. Evaluating the complete installation helps identify the underlying cause.
