The smoke collection process begins as soon as rising cooking fumes enter the capture zone beneath the chimney canopy. Before smoke reaches the grease filters, the blower creates negative pressure that guides warm air upward. A larger and properly positioned capture area helps prevent smoke from escaping into the kitchen. Correct installation height and chimney alignment play an important role in maximizing the effectiveness of this initial capture stage.
Inspection of grease build-up and filter condition
Baffle/mesh filter removal and deep degreasing
Motor housing and duct-mouth cleaning
Auto-clean function check (if applicable)
Filter refitting and suction test
Final wipe-down and odour check
Professional chimney servicing includes verifying that filters, blower, ducting, electrical controls and mounting hardware operate together as one integrated ventilation system. Comprehensive inspection provides a clearer understanding of overall performance than checking individual components separately. This approach supports reliable smoke extraction and consistent long-term operation.
Expect to pay roughly ₹499–₹1499 for Prestige chimney clean in Ekw Kalikapur. A minimum inspection fee of ₹350 applies if you decide not to proceed after the visit — this is adjusted against the final bill if you go ahead. All clean work carries a 90-day SharkCool service warranty, covering workmanship on the job performed.
Before switching on a Prestige chimney after cleaning, we test the electrical connection and confirm the ducting seal is airtight — not just that the fan spins.

The capture zone is the area directly beneath the kitchen chimney where rising smoke, steam and grease particles are collected before spreading throughout the kitchen. A properly sized chimney positioned at the recommended height creates a wider and more effective capture zone. Cooking habits, cookware size and surrounding airflow also influence capture efficiency. Maintaining clean filters and proper airflow helps preserve the effectiveness of this capture area during everyday cooking.
