Kitchen chimney motors are designed to operate under predictable airflow conditions. When filters become clogged or ducts become restricted, the blower works harder to overcome increased resistance. Maintaining consistent airflow through regular cleaning allows the motor to operate closer to its intended working conditions, supporting smoother performance and reducing unnecessary mechanical stress over time.
Inspection of grease build-up and filter condition
Baffle/mesh filter removal and deep degreasing
Motor housing and duct-mouth cleaning
Auto-clean function check (if applicable)
Filter refitting and suction test
Final wipe-down and odour check
The blower inside a kitchen chimney continuously moves air through filters and ducting. Every obstruction—including dirty filters, unnecessary duct bends and partially blocked outlets—increases resistance. As resistance rises, airflow gradually decreases even though the motor continues operating. Maintaining a clear airflow path helps the blower perform more efficiently and supports consistent smoke extraction during everyday cooking.

If chimney performance gradually declines over several months, the cause is often related to normal maintenance requirements rather than sudden component failure. Grease accumulation inside filters, restricted ducts or blocked outlets can all reduce airflow over time. Systematic inspection allows technicians to identify the source of reduced performance before recommending repairs or component replacement.
