A sudden reduction in duct diameter increases airflow resistance and may reduce smoke extraction efficiency. Professional installers normally maintain a consistent duct size throughout the exhaust path whenever possible. Uniform duct dimensions allow air to move smoothly toward the outdoor outlet while minimizing unnecessary turbulence. Following the manufacturer's recommended duct specifications supports balanced ventilation performance.

The blower inside a kitchen chimney performs most efficiently when airflow remains balanced throughout the ventilation system. Dirty filters, blocked ducts or obstructed outlets increase resistance and reduce extraction efficiency. Routine maintenance helps preserve balanced airflow, allowing the motor to operate under normal conditions while maintaining effective smoke removal.

Modern kitchen chimneys vary in size and weight depending on their design and construction. Before installation, technicians inspect the wall material to determine whether it can safely support the appliance using appropriate mounting hardware. Concrete, solid brick and lightweight partition walls require different installation methods. Verifying wall strength before drilling helps ensure secure long-term support and minimizes vibration during operation.
