Kitchen chimneys are designed to operate above cooking appliances while maintaining a recommended clearance from direct heat. Installing the appliance at the correct height helps protect internal components from excessive temperatures while supporting efficient smoke capture. Following the manufacturer's installation guidance contributes to both safety and long-term performance.
Most Prestige installation jobs in Tangra Kalikapur land between ₹799 and ₹2499 — island chimneys and longer duct runs sit at the higher end, simple wall-mounted units at the lower end. All install work carries a 90-day SharkCool service warranty, covering workmanship on the job performed.
Safety checks — secure mounting, ducting seal, and electrical connection — are part of every install job, not an optional add-on.

Static pressure is the resistance that the chimney motor must overcome while pushing air through the duct. Long ducts, sharp bends, dirty filters and blocked outlets all increase static pressure. As resistance rises, airflow decreases even if the motor continues running normally. Proper duct design, regular filter cleaning and keeping the external outlet unobstructed help reduce static pressure and improve overall extraction performance. Understanding this concept explains why two identical chimneys may perform differently depending on the installation.
