Long horizontal duct sections may encourage grease deposits because airflow velocity gradually decreases as particles travel through the duct. Whenever practical, installers design duct routes that remain short and direct while following manufacturer recommendations. Efficient duct layouts reduce airflow resistance, simplify maintenance and help maintain consistent smoke extraction during daily cooking.

Cooking creates rising columns of warm air mixed with steam, grease particles and smoke. A properly positioned chimney captures these air currents before they spread across the room. External influences such as ceiling fans, open windows or air conditioners may alter airflow patterns. Professional installation takes these conditions into account when positioning the chimney above the cooktop.

Accurate measurements reduce the likelihood of unnecessary drilling or repositioning during installation. Professional technicians confirm chimney width, cooktop centreline, mounting height, cabinet clearance and duct outlet location before fixing brackets. Careful measurement improves installation accuracy while reducing cosmetic damage to kitchen walls and cabinetry. This preparation contributes to efficient smoke capture and a professional finished appearance.
