A kitchen chimney removes smoke, grease particles, and cooking odours more effectively when adequate airflow is available. Extremely enclosed kitchens may benefit from additional ventilation to support efficient air movement. Proper ventilation can also help reduce moisture accumulation generated during cooking.

The space around a kitchen chimney should remain free from combustible decorative materials and unnecessary storage items. Excessive heat, grease, and cooking vapours can affect nearby surfaces over time. During installation, technicians verify that recommended clearances are maintained between the chimney, cooktop, cabinets, and surrounding structures. Maintaining these clearances supports safe operation and allows easier future maintenance.
