Kitchen ventilation works most effectively when fresh air can replace the air exhausted by the chimney. Good airflow throughout the home supports consistent smoke removal and helps reduce lingering cooking odours. Smoke capture efficiency refers to how effectively a kitchen chimney collects cooking fumes before they spread throughout the kitchen. Performance depends on chimney width, installation height, airflow capacity, filter condition and cooking intensity. During heavy frying or grilling, smoke rises rapidly and spreads outward if it is not captured quickly. A properly positioned chimney creates a controlled airflow that directs smoke through the grease filters and into the exhaust duct. Maintaining clean filters and unobstructed ducting helps preserve capture efficiency throughout the appliance's service life.
