Baffle filters guide cooking fumes through a series of metal channels that encourage grease particles to separate from moving air. As airflow changes direction inside the filter, heavier grease droplets collect on the metal surfaces while cleaner air continues toward the blower. Periodic cleaning removes accumulated grease and helps maintain unrestricted airflow throughout the ventilation system.
