Kitchen walls may be constructed from reinforced concrete, solid brick, hollow blocks or lightweight partition materials. Because each surface behaves differently under load, installers choose mounting anchors that match the wall structure. Using appropriate fasteners improves stability, distributes the chimney's weight correctly and reduces long-term movement or vibration. Evaluating the wall before installation is an important part of achieving a secure mounting system.

Accurate measurements reduce the likelihood of unnecessary drilling or repositioning during installation. Professional technicians confirm chimney width, cooktop centreline, mounting height, cabinet clearance and duct outlet location before fixing brackets. Careful measurement improves installation accuracy while reducing cosmetic damage to kitchen walls and cabinetry. This preparation contributes to efficient smoke capture and a professional finished appearance.

Smoke generated during cooking does not rise in a perfectly straight line. It spreads outward while mixing with hot air, steam and airborne grease particles. Ceiling fans, open windows and room ventilation can also change its direction. A properly installed kitchen chimney creates a controlled airflow above the cooktop that intercepts these rising fumes before they disperse throughout the room. Understanding smoke movement helps explain why installation position and chimney width are both important for effective extraction.
