Kitchen chimneys are frequently installed between or beneath overhead cabinets. Before mounting the appliance, technicians inspect cabinet alignment to ensure sufficient clearance for installation and future maintenance. Proper alignment also improves the finished appearance by keeping equal spacing on both sides of the chimney. Careful planning before drilling helps avoid unnecessary cabinet modifications later.
